Your learning journey

Urdu Reading, Writing & Speaking: course content

The tutor uses these stages as a guide and adjusts the starting point, examples and revision to your assessment.

01Find your starting point

The tutor checks listening, conversation, letter recognition and handwriting separately. A learner may speak confidently while needing beginner reading activities.

02Letters, sounds and connected reading

Practise letter shapes, similar sounds and joined forms. Read a small set of useful words before moving to short sentences.

03Handwriting and meaning

Write letters and familiar words with feedback on formation and spacing. Connect each written example with something the learner can say and understand.

04Speaking in everyday situations

Practise greetings, family conversations and simple questions through role play. The tutor adjusts vocabulary and sentence length to the learner’s level.

How your one-on-one class works

Your tutor listens to you individually, checks understanding and allows time to repeat a difficult part. The balance of explanation, reading and discussion depends on the course and learner.

  1. Reconnect and revise

Begin with a brief check-in and review the previous assignment.

  2. Learn a focused next step

The tutor explains or models the next skill using a manageable example.

  3. Practise with feedback

Try it yourself, ask questions and repeat with correction or clarification.

  4. Agree the next practice task

Finish with a clear revision task and a focus for the next lesson.

Lesson duration and frequency are agreed during booking. Each activity takes the time the learner needs, rather than following an identical minute-by-minute timetable.

Practice between lessons

Keep revision short: read a few tutor-selected words, write a small example and use one sentence in a family conversation. Parents can encourage attempts without turning every conversation into a test.

Progress and feedback

Review reading accuracy, clearer handwriting, listening comprehension and increasingly independent answers. Progress can differ across the three skills; the tutor adjusts practice rather than promising a fixed completion date.

Talk to the tutor or support team about recurring difficulties, missed lessons or a change in your routine so the next steps remain realistic.

Urdu Reading, Writing & Speaking: common questions

1My child speaks Urdu but cannot read it. Can they join?

Yes. Tell us what they can understand and say. The trial helps identify a reading and writing starting point without repeating conversation skills they already have.

2Will the lessons cover speaking as well as writing?

Yes. Reading, writing and speaking are course goals. The balance is adapted to the learner’s starting level and priorities.

3Are Quran and Urdu reading the same skill?

No. Urdu has its own vocabulary, additional letters and language patterns. Experience reading Arabic may help with recognising some shapes, but Urdu comprehension and conversation need their own practice.

4What do Urdu lessons cost?

Urdu uses the same monthly plans as our Quran courses: one learner and 30-minute lessons, with country-specific prices shown on this page. Other durations, sibling plans and tutor availability are confirmed before enrollment.

5How are lesson times and fees agreed?

Share your country, city, weekly availability and preferred lesson duration. The team confirms a tutor slot and the fees for your plan before you enroll.

6What do I need for the free demo?

A phone, tablet or computer, reliable internet and a quiet place are enough to begin. The team sends joining instructions. A parent should help younger children get connected.
